Barcelona Brews and Chews

Barcelona Brews and Chews

Barcelona is a one of a kind city full of amazing architecture (looking at you Gaudi), sexy beaches, relaxing mountain tops and great shopping. But all that sightseeing really works up an appetite, so check out some of our favorite places to refuel!

Petra – A small restaurant in the El Born neighborhood, all the menus are adorably printed on wine bottles! Make sure to check out the daily chef specials for some great offerings at a very reasonable price.

La Boqueria –  Do not miss the famous market right off Las Ramblas – come here hungry! Stalls overflow with fresh fruit and candies as well as ready made meals like empenadas, croquettes, fruit smoothies and more! There are also small bars/restaurants that you can actually sit at and sample tapas of all kinds. Give yourself a few hours to eat your way through the market.

The Box – Tiny place with a big attitude! We spent more than a few nights here sampling all their macerated rums – they have some really unique flavors and if you find one you love you can buy a small sample to take home with you! They also have great hot dogs and a fabulously eclectic soundtrack! Seriously – just go here!

Le Coq & the Burg– In the shadow of La Sagrada Familia this is a cozy place to get a fancy burger and fries. They have a number of burger x egg options and lots of dipping sauces for the fries!

You can’t go wrong with a juicy burger and a fried egg! Mmmmmm

La Fabrica – Empanadas Argentinas – Yummy hand made empanadas made throughout the day while you watch! They have many of the traditional flavors you except and also some daily specials – including vegetarian options! There is a small stand up bar for eating but these are best as a to-go option.

So warm, so flaky, so delicious!

Mercat Princesa – This is basically a grown up (read classy) food court! It’s an awesome spot featuring lots of different, permanent stalls under one roof. They have everything from tacos to croquettes; pizza to jamon and even beer and wine kiosks. This is a great option if it’s raining, hot AF or you have picky eaters – there are plenty of options!Mercat Princessa 1 _ use this one
